General farm workers in Agriculture Sector
Farming is a common agricultural activity in Lithuania. Today a significant part of the countryside population is engaged in general farm work and most people often cultivate small private plots of land.
Lithuania traditionally grew grain (wheat, rye and feed grains), potatoes, flax, and sugar beets. It also developed food processing, meat production and dairy farming. Agricultural sector has always been well developed in the country and other neighboring Eastern European states. According to the country studies the agricultural sector contributed 24.0 percent of GDP in 1992 and employed 19.0 percent of the labor force.
Majority of Lithuanians have general farming skills including planting, seeding, picking, processing, harvesting, packing and much more. For this reason we highly recommend employing Lithuanian workers for general farm jobs which do not require fluency in English language. Among our candidates there are a lot of students and graduates from agricultural universities as well as people who have obtained basic agricultural knowledge from working on a family farm. They are very interested in various UK agricultural jobs.
